Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe International airport

Have a delicious morning breakfast, meet and greet with our company representative at your of hotel of residence in Kampala to Entebbe. Start an 8-9 hours’ drive to the misty Bwindi impenetrable forest national park located in south western region of Uganda. The park is home for half of remaining endangered mountain gorilla population in the world. Honestly, the journey to Bwindi forest is long but exceedingly enjoyable hence giving you chance to take a glance at the beautiful scenic landscape of the wonderful Pearl of Africa. Explore the fabulous rolling terraced hills of kabale region called the “Switzerland for Uganda”.

Enjoy an optional stopover at the Uganda Equator and continue with the journey. Delight in an enroute lunch at Igongo culture center in Mbarara and later start your journey to Bwindi forest. Upon arrival, check in at the your booked lodge in the park for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking experience and a transfer to the beautiful lake Bunyonyi.

After an early morning cup of coffee, prepare your packed lunch boxes and get ready for a drive to the park headquarters offices for briefing before trekking begins. Here, you are put under the charge of a park ranger guide to take you through the trek and protect you just in case of any attack from the animals in the park. At this point, you are grouped into eight and transfer to the starting point. You begin the trekking in the jungle of Bwindi forest at exactly 8:00am.

It should not be forgotten that locating a gorilla group can take 30 minutes to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorilla family. Prepare to carry enough snacks, drinking water to help finish up the trekking journey successfully. Importantly, trekking mountain gorillas needs some level of physical fitness because it’s tedious but extremely interesting.

On encountering the gorilla family, you are allowed to spend with it only one hour and enjoy taking photos with them, learn more about their life style in the jungle. After the memorable adventure, head back to the park headquarter to get your certificate of participation and contribution in conserving the mountain gorillas. Return to the lodge, have lunch and relax.

Take a transfer from Bwindi forest to Lake Bunyonyi the deepest and most beautiful lake in the Pearl of Africa full of fascinating islands. On reaching, check in at your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day3: Boat/canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi and a transfer back to Kampala

At your lodge, enjoy breakfast and later move out for a boat ride experience on the wonderful lake Bunyonyi. You will get to explore various dotted islands, meet and interact with the local people, enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake, birding and so much more. Return to the lodge and prepare to join your driver guide for a transfer to Kampala. enjoy an enroute lunch in Mbarara before you proceed with the journey. On reaching, you are transferred to the hotel of your residence for an overnight stay and dinner.

Day4: White Water Rafting Adventure experience in Jinja

Have an early morning breakfast and depart to Jinja which is a 2 hours’ drive. You get to explore the largest tropical rainforest in the Pearl of Africa named Mabira forest along the way. This mighty forest is home for several bird species and primate mammals.

Reaching Jinja, join the rafting team for a short briefing and get on the vehicle for a drive to the starting point. Get an opportunity to delight in briefing exercise that boosts your confidence and gives you a good impression about the white water rafting adventure. Feel free to inform the rafting team about which grade you would love to experience this can either be grade 3 or grade 5 rapids before you start your the breathing taking sports adventure. Rafting lasts for about one to three hours and at the end, celebrate your experience with a refreshment offer from the rafting company.

After the unforgettable adventure, join your driver guide for a transfer back to Kampala. You will arrive in the evening at your hotel of residence in Kampala relax, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: An Optional Kampala city Tour and a Departure back home

Enjoy a calm morning with a leisure breakfast then move out for an optional Kampala city tour. The tour gives you chance to visit interesting attractions in Kampala like the Uganda museum, Kabaka’s palace, Namugongo Martyr’s shrine or you can decide to take a visit to schools, orphanages and so much more of your choice. Head back to the hotel for lunch and after we transfer you to Entebbe international airport to catch up with your booked flight back home.
